No but seriously, Jaime has always been one of my favorites, and I think Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was cast perfectly and nailed this scene like a Danish hammer, and [etc. etc., everyone on the Jaime Lannister tag is losing their shit right now, just scroll through, I don’t have to be repetitive here].
This scene was amazing in the book and it was amazing in the show. I am all applause and excitement. The end.

Honestly I wasn’t quite feeling it for most of the episode. And I’m willing to overlook A LOT of this show’s issues. I mean I understand why people are getting upset with it lately, and God knows I have a special loathing for Moffat-flavored shenanigans (Series 6 arc, I’m looking at you). But I also think people love to rip New Who apart in a particularly vicious way. Even the best episodes have rants written about them that just pick and stab at the stupidest things. It makes me sad that people can’t seem to enjoy it for what it is at its heart - which, despite many problems and shortcomings, is still pretty unique and beautiful.
That being said, towards the end of this episode when the Doctor was staring down the planet-god, I couldn’t help thinking of Ten’s speech in The Satan Pit… and then Eleven’s speech happened, and Matt Smith’s acting set against the song… it just… I mean… that’s kind of why I love this show.
Still felt like just a mediocre episode overall, and I’m still nervous about the rest of Series 7, but at the end of the day I’m in it for moments like this. Sorry not sorry.
